Sun God Medicinals

Sun God Medicinals is a family owned and operated herbal-infused product company from Southern Oregon. Our product offerings include herbal teas, tinctures, capsules, pet oils, and topicals all carefully crafted with the health of the end-user in mind (including our furry friends!) As a team of herbalists we are actively engaged in procuring, processing, and compounding a multitude of herbal remedies. We traditionally extract and blend all of our products in a certified organic facility. We process traditional medicinal herbs from Southern Oregon like chamomile, echinacea, and lemon balm, as well as USDA certified organic hemp grown right here in the Rogue Valley for its phytocannabinoid content. We believe in complete transparency and every batch of hemp products is tested by a 3rd party lab.

We work hard to source certified organic and sustainably harvested herbs from our own region as we believe in 100 mile healing - that is living local and supporting the local economy. By working hand in hand with our Southern Oregon farmers, we can be assured that our raw materials receive the best inputs for a medicinal herb. In addition, most other raw materials are certified organic and from Oregon suppliers if they can be, including the organic cane alcohol from Ashland, Oregon which we use in our tinctures. In summary, all products from Sun God Meds were made with the highest care and a commitment to quality.

Company Mission/Philosophy

Blend and infuse lovingly grown, organic, Southern Oregon medicinal herbs with the health of the end-user in mind by going beyond organic standards; bringing awareness to bioregional medicinal herbs; and demystifying their uses for consumers. We contribute to the economic viability of our region by buying local as much as possible and supporting sustainable business practices that leave the world a better place.

Founder Story/Management Team

The vision started in 2011 when husband and wife team Brie & Jon were farming on the family homestead in Shady Cove, Oregon - exploring food production for a healthier lifestyle and medicinal herbs for family members in need. After falling in love with plant medicine founder Brie Malarkey began selling her herbal teas and tinctures at the local farmers market in 2012. In 2014 she opened her first store with a small kitchen and a goal of combining her herbal blends with cannabis in an effort to demystify medicinal herbs for consumers.

Market Positioning/Differentiation

We extract all our herbs individually using traditional methods to preserve the phytochemicals and plant constituents. Custom formulate products to help consumers address specific reasons like sleep, muscle tension, or reproductive support. We pay respect to the medicine people before us by naming each product line after a legend relevant to health and wellness from various world mythologies. Working hard to demystify medicinal herbs.

Agriculture and Regenerative Practices

We work to partner with family farms whenever possible and those that strive to grow harmoniously with the natural world. As a seed-to-sale company we understand living soils, regenerative agriculture, and cultivating in balance and stewards of the land.

Sustainability and Social Initiatives

Sun God Medicinals deeply believes in supporting families, our communities, and the Earth. Each year, we choose causes to support that reflect these values, helping to raise money for those in need including Stillbrave foundation, Alzheimer’s Assoc, Maslow Project, Herbalists Without Borders, and more.

Education, merchandising and marketing

We supply our retail partners with a variety of educational materials from pocket herbalist guides to shelf-talkers to multimedia staff education to help support a more informed community.
